Your 19 Previous North American Champions
Submitted By: Global Broomball Magazine on September 30, 2016 at 12:35:49 PM

Teams and players from all areas of the United States, as well as Saskatchewan, Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, New Brunswick, New Foundland and Quebec have competed to claim the North American Championship. The tournament began, and had a 10 year run at the historic Rosemount Horizon, scene of the wildest Friday night battles in the history of the event. In 2010 it shifted to the New Hope Arena for a 1 year cameo apperance, with the last eight events having been played at the Augsburg Ice Arena, The Broomball Capital of the United States.

The first event was played in 1998 and featured top American teams at the time Hansen Sports and Tony Jaro's as well as Canadian clubs, The Manitoba Hawks, and Atlantic Republic of the Maritime Provinces.

In 2001 The Midwestern Division was added to the tournament to originally allow class B and C teams a bigtime non-contact event to participate in. Later, as the main event moved away from contact, it morphed in to a 2nd chance draw for teams who may not have fared as well as they would have liked in pool play.
